The Charlotte Firebirds is a fictional professional baseball team in Charlotte, NC. The name was inspired by the infamous firebird sculpture in downtown Charlotte located outside the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art. Charlotte is an ideal spot to introduce a professional sports team because of the loyal fanbase that already exists for the other teams in the city such as the Carolina Panthers and Charlotte Hornets.
The Firebirds logo combines imagery of a bird, fire, and a baseball. The orange-red color pairs nicely with the name Firebirds while still maintaining a separate identity from the colors currently used by other teams in the MLB.
